PLANT DESCRIPTION
Subtropical annual plant, 1 to 1.5m high with robust stem, green or tinged with red depending on the variety.
HISTORY
In Africa, the hibiscus flower or Karkadé is ancestrally considered a magical plant. It is said to have the power to provoke sexual desire, love and divination. Karkadé buttons are burned during love rituals and, woven into garlands, worn during wedding ceremonies. The plant is also the subject of a traditional drink very widespread in Africa, bissap. The crop has been reported in Asia since the beginning of the 20th century, for the production of fibers (India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia and Java). It is present today in all tropical regions.

HOW TO USE
As a herbal tea, with a pleasant, refreshing tangy flavor, a beautiful dark red.
Infusion: 1.5g/cup or 10-20g of calyx/l of boiling water, infusion for 10 minutes. Maceration: 10-20g of calyx/l of lukewarm water, leave for 20 minutes before filtering.
Example: 2 to 3 large glasses/day as a stimulant, eupeptic, diuretic, intestinal antiseptic or mild laxative.
As a hot or iced "pleasure drink", sweetened and flavored as desired with lemon zest and/or mint leaves, ginger (bissap).
